One of us is Lying (Book): Addy Prentiss (ENFJ)

Functional axis: Fe/Ni/Se/Ti



Dominant Function: Fe


Addy is the stereotypical popular princess of her school. She is in tune with the social costumes of her school, charming, openly affectionate and emotional, but also deeply vain and even manipulative at times. She always puts others wishes above her own and tends to judge herself harshly when she doesn‘t meet their expectations. Only through the encouragement of her sister Ashton she makes a change of heart. After her transformation she becomes genuinely kind and compassionate, acting as the heart of the group and inspiring the others. She aims to work for humanitarian purposes in the sequel book and acts as a motherly figure to the others.

Auxilliary Function: Ni


Addy starts seeking purpose in her life after her former life and reputation is destroyed by Simon‘s murder, wanting wo built a future of her own. She makes the symbolical change of cutting her long beautiful her to reflect her change of character, no longer being the Good Girl she used to be. She is also surprisingly insightful and in the end it is her how finds out the truth about the murder. After the events the others see her as an embodiment of hope and change, since she was able to change her faith and build a better future for herself, becoming more optimistic and hopeful.


Tertiary Function: Se


Addy has been encouraged to value the physical about everything else, being invested in beauty and fashion since her youth. She has a sense of aesthetics and is great at creating art, like decorating her home and attuned to sensorical pleasures. This makes her also impulsive and a bit reckless at times, causing her many problems.

Inferior Function: Ti


Addy struggles with being calm and unemotional, seeing herself as useless when she cries over Simons death instead of offering help. She often doesn‘t think for herself and does as others tell her. After her transformation this changes partly and she develops a more independent and critical mind.
