Imitation Game: Joan Clarke (ENFJ)

Functional Order: Fe/Ni/Se/Ti

Dominant Function: Fe

Unlike Alan and some other men in his team Joan is highly emotionally intelligent. She easily reads the room and influences others with her charm and enthusiasm. She is very friendly and compassionate, but also very sensitive to others. While she has feelings for Turing she quickly realizes that he is into man and does accept this, prioritizing his feelings over her own and still staying loyal to him.

Auxilliary Function: Ni

Joan was a highly intelligent and ambitious woman for her time. She was modern thinking believing she could compete with the man on her field even though it seemed highly unlikely at that time. She was quick to solve riddles and used this to excel at maths by using her strong intuition to grasp theoretical concepts.

Tertiary Function: Se

Joan enjoys the moment. She loves dancing, joking around with friends and dressing way, but is ultimately more inclined to intellectual pursuits. Joan is realistic and practical and well grounded, but her feelings for Turing make her dream of a life with him she knows she can‘t achieve realistically.

Inferior Function: Ti

Joan is highly intelligent, but less logical than the man in her team, having a more empathetic and intuitive approach to their problems. Still she is great at critical thinking and maths, showing her own logical understanding of the world.
