The Hobbit: Tauriel (ENFJ)

Functional Axis: Fe/Ni/Se/Ti



Dominant Function: Fe


Tauriel is deeply caring for those around her and has a natural urge for engaging for the community extending her help to those who need it. She can make sharp moral judgments and tends to be outspoken about her views, as well as a capable leader. She communicates in an emotional way, but can also be commanding if needed.

Auxilliary Function: Ni


Tauriel is an idealist opting for a change of the Elves politics. She wants that they give up their isolationistic politics and engage in the real world, sensing that there are dangerous changes happening. She is future focused and stubbornly believes in her own conclusion, even with little factual evidence. Her attachment to Killis present also shows how attuned she is to the symbolical.

Tertiary Function: Se


Tauriel acts impulsive and in the moment. She is straightforward and fierce when fighting and has a sense of boldness to her, something she needs in her position. Still she can get overwhelmed with surprising attacks and isn‘t always focused. Normally she still acts gracefully and focused, acting quickly to help those she loves.

Inferior Function: Ti

Tauriel doesn‘t understand Thranduil‘s coldness or his reasons for his politics, preferring a more idealistic and emotional approach. She can be calculated and clam under pressure, but is easily distracted by her emotions.
