Percy Jackson: Calypso (INFJ)

Functional Order: Ni/Fe/Ti/Se

Dominant Function: Ni

When Percy first meets her Calypso seems mysterious and detached. She is a bit naive about the world as she lived on a secluded island for centuries, but is quite perceptive. She easily reads Percy‘s emotions for him and seems to reciprocate them. Her gift to Percy also shows her knack for symbolism, hoping that the blooming moon flower will symbolize her love for him.

Auxiliary Function: Fe

Calypso is very warm and welcoming to strangers visiting her island. She is compassionate, gentle and attains for their need, nursing Percy and Leo when they are hurt. Soft spoken and gentle, she is well liked by the other gods, even though she collaborated with their enemy. She can also be a bit manipulative, wanting Percy to stay with her on the island, but ultimately gives up after realizing it is the best for him.

Tertiary Function: Ti

After having been left by Percy, Calypso becomes more cynical and pessimistic. She is quick witted and has a sharp tongue, shown in her arguments with Leo. Even before that she was quite blunt about her views and always stated the „truth“, even though it might got her into difficult situations. She is carefully plotting her escape from the island with Leo later on.

Inferior Function: Se

Calypso manages to put the most of her exile. Creating beautiful gardens, full of flowers, cooking fine food for her visitors and getting her hands dirty doing gardening, fixing technical issues and cooking all by herself. She can be impulsive and quick to anger, but is normally soft spoken and detached. She is a little naive about the world outside her island and not the most realistic about her situation.
