Dominant Function: Fi
Madeleine is a sensitive soul, but hides her deep emotions under a calm and professional fassade. She projects and image of almost being stoic and cold, while at the same time being deeply vulnerable and compassionate beneath the surface. She has a strong sense of inner ethics and stubbornly holds to this code, even if it is impractical like with her dislike of guns.
Auxiliary Function: Ne
Madeleine is rarely grounded and often far ahead in her mind, being easily stressed by much action and fights, struggling to react quickly like when she and James are attacked in the beginning of the movie. Still she is able to come up with creative ways to defend herself, using her environment in uncommon ways to achieve her goals, like when she frees herself by throwing the acid in one of her captors eyes, after she successfully tricked him. As a psychologist she is also great at discerning the hidden motives of others by intuitively connecting the reasons for their behavior, based on connecting all the cues to form a bigger picture.
Tertiary Function: Si
Madeleine seeks comfort and stability something she hardly gets in a relationship with someone like Bond, who is always seeking out thrill and adventure. She also struggles with reconciling with her past experiences and traumas, constantly reflecting on old memories and what they could mean for her future (Ne/Si). Overall she is quite observant and good at noticing small details, but reluctant to act based on it.
Inferior Function: Te
Madeleine is not the most calculated person and mainly acts on her emotions. She struggles putting her emotions completely aside when being pressured by Safin and struggles to hold up her professional aura, when stressed. Still she is able to react quite strategic and bold under stress, using her father weapons to defend herself or attacking her captors, acting planned and ruthlessly to achieve her goals, or defend herself and her daughter if needed.
