Functional Order: Fi/Ne/Si/Te
Dominant Function: Fi
Eric is one of the shows most moral characters, often acting as the voice of conscience and reason to his friends. He is sure in his identity and doesn‘t try to hide his sexuality or change himself to fit in with others, being a true individualist. He is normally one of the kindest and most understanding people in the Upper Eassisde, but can become quite aggressive if his values are threatened. As his feelings are focused inward he is a sensitive soul and seems to value artistic expression. He has a bit of a romantic side, but is vulnerable towards feeling misunderstood
Auxiliary Function: Ne
Eric is quick witted and able to see things from multiple perspectives, being considered wise beyond his years and often offering advice to his sister Serena. Still he can seem quite dizzy and dreamy at times, as his mind is often wandering to different places. He is also skilled at reading others and seeing their hidden intentions, like when calling out his mother for her fake niceness, or seeing how Jenny erases herself to fit in with her „friends“.
Tertiary Function: Si
Eric holds his family in high regard and is quite loyal to them. He seems fond of their small traditions and is quite observant, often noticing small details others miss. He has difficulty adjusting to change, seen when he struggles to deal with his sisters sudden disappearance.
Inferior Function: Te
Eric is normally kind and softspoken, but quite assertive and even rude when angered. He is firm in his identity and values and ready to argue for them. While he mostly keeps out of the scheming and backstabbing in his circles he is quite able to do so and admires others who can succeed in these games (like Blair or Jenny).
