Infjs are the rarest of all types and as such the most mysterious and fascinating type to research on.They are very kind and empathetic, but also mystical and otherworldly. Analytical, but emotional Infjs are a highly complex type with lots of secrets, mystifications and misunderstandings around them, so today we are trying to look behind the mystery into the essence of this type.
Dominant Function: Ni

Infjs have a reputation for being mystical and otherworldly in their demeanor. They are seen as hard to grasp and mysterious, like the dreamy Miranda how mysteriously disappears in Picnic at hanging rock. Some spirit like people living in a dream world. But actually they can be quite realistic and focused in their vision. They have clear goals for their future and a clear vision of where to go, like Mahatma who orchestrated the Indian resistance against the colonial British Forces, based on his singleminded vision of freedom that was based on his spiritual reflections. Infjs are highly abstract and drawn towards the symbolic and vague often giving others advise, like the Herman Nun and Saint Hildegard of Bingen that was renown for her insight and wisdom. They can also be tragic in their singleminded future orientation becoming fanatics at worst, like some tyrannical political or religious idealists. But normally this idealism is more fruitful than destructive and as they are an extroverted feeler they naturally integrate others into their vision.

Just like Enfjs, Infjs can be incredibly charismatic and skilled leaders. But they only do so is they have a cause, a certain project or future vision. Normally they will more likely keep quiet and to theselves. Like Daenerys from Game of Throne, who went from a shy girl afraid of her brother to a confident leader, determined to make her vision of social justice a reality in Westeros. Infjs often care for societal causes and the collective wanting to secure the greater good over the individual, which can also lead them to bad places, like Itachi Uchiha from Naruto who murederd his entire clan to secure peace. Infjs are naturally harmony oriented and dislike conflict and even manipulate others to be sire of it. If used for evil goals their manipulatively abilities can be dangerous just like the Enfjs. Tertiary Function: Ti
Unlike Enfjs, Infj can be quite cold and detached. They are able to view things from a more rational standpoint than their extroverted counterpart, while still staying true to their feelings. While this can make them great in scientific fields like Jane Goodall or Niels Bohr it also can make them colder and more antisocial than they typical are. Just like Euros Holmes in Sherlock, who uses her manipulative abilities to conduct cruel research about human psychology. When used well they can het a springlike hollistic perspective on live being able to view it from a metaphysical as well as a scientific site, just like Sophie in I Origins.
Inferior Function: Se
Under stress Infjs either completly lose touch with reality or over indulge in physical pleasures, as unhealthy coping mechanisms. Especially in younger years they often appear dreamy and even awkward in their physicality and need time to mature into more graceful and realistic versions of themselves. While big dreamers, they appreciate a certain pragmatism in others, even though they can‘t always achieve it the selves and can be uncharacteristically impulsive when the situation calls for it. Like Rose in Titanic who jumps out of the rescue boat Ti be with Jack.
