Nivea is mother to a total of 15 children, but manages to cares for all their needs simultaneously and recognizing their individual strengths and potentials. Nivea is a modern thinking woman and quite progressive, not being bound by the traditions of her time. She is also very open towards the supernatural dimensions of their lives and encourages Clara to follow her intuitions. She rightly predicts that Rosa will die Young because of her otherworldly nature and sticks to this conclusion without any external evidence.
Tertiary Function: Se
Nivea is known for being a rather bold and daring woman, often taking very drastic and recognizable forms of protest to the distaste of the more conservative members of her community. She has a more reckless streak and ultimately dies in a car accident.

Nivea is seen by some to be hysteric about her idealism and lacking common sense, but actually she follows her own logic, which is strongly influenced by her ideals of equality.
