Functional Axis: Fe/Si/Ne/Ti

Bilbo is warm and caring towards his group of friends and enjoys company most of the time. He is open with his emotions and sympathetic to others, while also being judgmental and preachy about his morals. Most of his values are based on the collective and he strives for harmony and belonging. He also wants to fit in with the group and prove his value.

Bilbo is very comfortable in his home, proffering stability and oder rover adventure. Still he is quite dutiful and loyal towards Gandalf and the fellowship. He is also deeply attached to the memories of his adventures proudly telling them to his niece Frodo. He also has an eye for details and often notices dangers before the others do.

Tertiary Function: Ne

In the end Bilbo let’s himself be convinced by Gandalf to go on an adventure with them. He is somewhat idealistic believing in the good in Thorin and convincing him that there are things that are worth more than the gold. He also refuses to give up hope when it seems they came to late for reclaiming the arc stone from the dragon. He is also good at tricking others by making up stories.

Inferior Function: Ti

Bilbo certainly isn‘t the most rational hobbit. He is guided by his emotions often taking drastic and dangerous actions to save his friend. While he becomes more cynic later on, he still seeks for shared happiness and emotional bonds stronger than for truth or justice.
