Penelope encores Philliph because of her enthusiasm and quick witted nature. She is highly perceptive and notices some of the problems royalty has to face, her more conservative and close minded peers can‘t see. She likes to try out new things and learn, enjoying wild horserides with Philip and trying to investigate the questions she has about the Romanovs death herself.

Penny is highly sensitive and deeply traumatized by her daughters early death. Still she doesn‘t show that much emotion on the outside and keeps up a rather calm and detached fassade. She is soft spoken and gentle, but firm in her principles and has a strong sense of right and wrong.Her authenticity and free spirited personality make Philiph feel drawn to her.

Penelope can act firmly and assertive if needed. She is analytical and bold, but often lets get her emotions the best of her.

She has a hard time moving on from her past trauma and is haunted by it, while trying to leave it behind at the same time. She is not bound by traditions and rather unconventional in her living, but still respects roayl customs and codes to a certain degree.
