Dominant Function: Fi


Arwen prioritizes her personal feelings above anything else. She stays true to her love for Aragorn even when everyone else tells her to abandon it and even sacrifices her immortality for the sake of it. She is quietly intense and as all way deeply sensitive and quietly compassionate. on the outside this isn‘t visible since she Carrie’s herself in a clam and composed way. She stubbornly insists on her values and won‘t compromise them.

Auxilliary Function: Ne


While her father Elrond and others like Galadriel give up their hope of saving middle-earth and want to abandon this world, Arwen clings to the idea of the very hope, sensing that there is still an opportunity for them to stand through these struggles. She also senses the potential of Aragorn knowing that he will face the same evil, but also that he will defeat it. Compared to someone like Eowyn she offers mainly symbolical and moral help, often speaking in metaphors and relying on elven magic rather than brute force.

Tertiary Function: Si


Arwen is not always the most active character and for large times exists in the safety of her fathers palace. She is not fast and doesn’t react in the moment, but still participates in the events. She is deeply influenced by her memories of her time with Aragorn and uses the ancient magic of her people to fight dark forces attacking them.

Inferior Function: Te


Arwen is rather soft spoken and only aggressive under thread like when she has to protect Frodo. Than she can act quite blunt and reckless, but naturally she takes the emotional decision over the most effective one,
