Functional Order: Fe/Ni/Se/Ti
Dominant Function: Fe
Unlike other psychiatrists Dr. Cawley takes on a very humanistic and empathetic approach to most of his patients, seeing them as poor souls in need of help rather than criminals at firmst. He is soft spoken and friendly, but cares a lot about his reputation and is somewhat sensitive to criticism. He is charismatic and asserts his authority in a calm and soft spoken manner.
Auxiliary Function: Ni
As a psychologist he is highly perceptive and able to see that there is more to Teddy than what meets the eye. He is philosophical in his musings about the right way to treat patients, but also sort of an idealistic about his methods and his believes that they will be able to heal Teddy. This causes him to play a highly symbolical and dangerous game with his patient.
Tertiary Function: Se
Doctor Cawley is very attentive of the right presentation, always dressing properly and seeming focused on the present needs of his patients. His office is full of beautiful mythological and historical items he collects for their symbolic and aesthetic value. He likes his patients doing hands on work to cure their illnesses like gardening and refuses to just lock them in their rooms forever.
Inferior Function: Ti
Doctor Cawley is calm and analytical, but struggles to fully detach himself from his emotions something about which he gets into conflict with some of the other doctors.
